Don't Shoot Yourself in the Foot

Friday September 29, 2006
Buying real estate is hard enough without buyers messing it up for themselves. Not that buyers intentionally cause problems, mind you. It's just that few understand the ramifications of their actions and, quite honestly, lots of real estate agents don't want to risk offending their clients by setting them straight.

Some agents probably worry about losing the deal altogether, but the reality is an agent owes her buyers the truth, even if it's something they don't want to hear. If you want to be happier in the long run and save yourself some grief, then don't commit any of the top three blunders that buyers routinely make. These are mistakes nobody will ever repeat twice, though. Not like that's any consolation. Sigh.
