Safety Tips for Women Home Buyers
One late night, many years ago, a man followed me home. I had gone to my girlfriend's house to take a shower because my water heater was on the fritz. Driving home, with my hair in curlers, I noticed a car was tailgating me. He turned when I turned. When I pulled into my alley, the car accelerated and zipped into my back-yard parking space, blocking me in.
I was terrified. A man got out of the vehicle and approached my car. I quickly locked all the doors. He began pounding on my windows, yelling at me to open the door. Petrified, I turned to look at him, and in my calmest voice said, "My father is inside this house, and I'm going to wake him up." I leaned on my horn. The sound penetrated the still evening air, and I didn't let go of the horn.
