How Century 21 Differs From Other Franchises
I got my start in real estate in the 1970s in Orange County, California. I didn't work for a franchise but ran my own company, which I bought for the sum of one dollar from the former broker. He wasn't really a broker -- he was a plumber -- but he happened to have a broker's license. The real person who ran the office before I bought it was the broker's friend, a real estate agent who used to sell cars for a living.
My, how things have changed since then. Today, Century 21 is a subsidiary of Realogy and has more than 8,000 franchises.
You must wonder, though, whether the name will change in 92 years to Century 22. Or will it remain Century 21 forever? . . . read more about Century 21.
