The Top Three Lies Told By Real Estate Agents
How much do you really know about your agent? If you're like the average seller or buyer, your knowledge is most likely limited to what the agent tells you and the information you read on the agent's web site.
Unfortunately, many real estate agents are lying to you. They lie through omission of facts, by twisting the truth or, in some cases, by publishing complete fabrications. And they don't blink an eye when they do it, either.
They call it marketing.
A lawyer would call it misrepresentation.
If your agent is an imposter or dishonest, it's fairly easy to find out. If you want transparency, here is how to verify the facts about your agent and figure out if you're being scammed. . . . read more about Lies Told by Real Estate Agents.

Well here you have it. Yet another post that helps the client. But wait! It helps the agents too. For one I, a Vancouver real estate agent, am glad that the potential clients have a way to find out if their agent is honest, and it is always a good thing to find one, because this is also a positive advertisement for them. Basically an informed client is the best “weapon” against fraud and scams in this business, or for that matter, any business.

I often look up agents when they are my competition. This way I know exactly whom I am dealing with.
When I first read your article I was miffed, but I clicked on your links and realized that there is a lot of truth to what you are saying.
I am a newer agent, 18 months to be exact, and I am not ashamed to admit it. In fact most of the clients who meet me hardly believe it’s true. I have an educated and experienced team of support at my office. Sometimes experience is the kiss of death in a constantly changing arena.
Everyone has been ‘new’, and everyone has to start somewhere. The difference between a good agent and a bad agent is someone who thinks they have all the answers, and someone who knows how to find them.
I think realtors are like every other profession. Some lie and some are honest. I listed my house on huthound.com, put a yard sign up (with brochures)and I actually saw a realtor stealing the brochures. I got a bad taste in my mouth about realtors but then many realtors contacted me to ask to show my house to potential buyers. The realtors I met seemed honest and tried to please both, me and the buyer. I currently have a sale pending without a realtor, but the realtors have been kind and have told me they will bring their buyers back if my pending sale falls apart.
