How to Recognize Predatory Mortgage Lenders

Even though there are laws against predatory lending, it doesn't stop mortgage fraud or protect an innocent buyer from harm.

Nobody wants to overpay for a mortgage loan or be taken to the cleaners, but few borrowers or first-time home buyers know how to tell the difference between a reputable lender and a shyster. Fortunately, there are steps you can take to protect yourself and telltale signs that should set off the warning bells before you sign on that dotted line.
