Arming a Security Alarm When Your Home is For Sale Can Be Risky

Dealing with security alarms and home selling can lead to trouble if handled incorrectly.

I'm one of those agents who, I'm sorry to say, always seems to set off security alarms when I'm showing a home. Either I push the buttons too fast, forget to push pound, away or star or whatever, or I transpose the numbers. No two alarms are the same.

I can't help it. Security alarms make me very nervous. I can hear it beeping when I open the front door and know that I have but mere seconds to correctly turn off the security alarm. This could get very frustrating especially if the home owner knows the agent might be coming. Once that alarm goes off you have to jump through so many hurdles until you can walk away.
