It’s refreshing and reassuring to find out that someone else understands the fact that belonging to a recognized home inspector’s association, much less being licensed, doesn’t constitute being a competent home inspector. As for using the real estate agent’s home inspector, unless the realtor is a trusted family member, this more often than not creates a conflict of interest that can and should be avoided. This btw is based upon my own personal experience as an independent home and building inspector/consultant of twenty-four years. Thanks for the article. I just hope more people will read it!
