Of course, hiring the right agent can help to ensure a smooth transaction. That's the first step. Generally speaking, a buyer should hire an agent with experience because a veteran can anticipate problems before they happen and make sure they don't materialize. Newer agents, while well meaning, eager and earnest, just don't have that experience to fall back on. There are only four more steps before you're there.
