Most real estate agents I know will say that any day is a good time for listing your home, but some times are better than others.
If it's a seller's market, for example, like the markets in many major metropolitan cities at the moment, then it's an excellent time for listing your home. A seller's market is an even better time if you have some kind of particular drawback such as defects or little equity or a bad location because home buyers right now will overlook some of that. Reduced inventory, coupled with low interest rates, has sparked many a buying frenzy, especially in California. Some homes that would have been sold as a short sale last fall can sell as a regular home this spring due to the slightly higher prices stemming from increased demand.
Talk to your local real estate agent. You might find this is an extraordinary time for listing your home.
