Why Short Sale Buyers Are So Frustrated

By June 7, 2013

We hear our share of stories about how awful short sales are for sellers, and how frustrating it is to deal with uncaring banks, but we really don't give much thought to what a short sale buyer goes through. It's really frustrating and irritating for a buyer because a short sale buyer is often kept in the dark. The buyers sign an offer and then they wait for months with no idea of what's going on.

I've had some buyer's agents tell me their buyers were worried because it appeared that the listing agent didn't seem to know what he or she was doing. It got to the point in a few transactions where the buyer's agent had to take over for the listing agent and get the short sale approved herself. But that's rare when it happens. Most of the time the short sale buyers just have to be patient and hope for the best.
