Page 2 --> Reading Messages

The Left Column
Once inside the forum, take a look at the left column, where messages are arranged by topic within folders. Again, a star means you haven't read that message yet.

• At the top of the column there's a pull-down menu to help you find and arrange messages. The one shown displays Unread Messages, but you can also view messages in other ways. If you are a first-time Guest visitor, all messages will be unread.
• The arrows under the blue scroll bar help you move up and down the page to see what's in all folders.
• To view all messages within a specific folder, click on the link that tells you how many messages are there, such as 5 Msgs, or 3 Msgs.

The Right Column

• This is where messages are displayed. The page shown is set up for Advanced View, which allows you to scroll through several messages within a topic. If you prefer, turn on Basic View to see one message at a time.
• Navigation and viewing controls are found at the bottom of the right column.
• Above the right column you'll find a series of links. One takes you to the start page. It's always a good idea to read the information on the start page of any Forum, to find out more about the host's guidelines.
