Guide Review
"Creating the Not So Big House"
Author Sarah Susanka explains how we can build a usable, comfortable, spacious home by downsizing. Does that sound strange? It may, but the strategies she recommends will help you do just that. Hold on though, because building smaller is not a cost-cutting technique. The funds saved by reducing square footage are used to upgrade features that are truly important, features that make a house a home. Follow the author's recommendations and you won't feel at all cramped, because the square footage that's eliminated comes from areas we rarely use. This excellent book doesn't just tell us to do something. It explains why and how techniques work, and gives us endless photos and drawings to help us incorporate the ideas into our own lifestyles.
