Biography of Chris Birk

Chris Birk worked as a full-time newspaper reporter for the Columbia Daily Tribune, the Indianapolis Star (on a Pulliam Fellowship) and the Scranton Times-Tribune. He later worked as a freelance writer for a host of publications, including the St. Louis Post-Dispatch (on the business desk), the St. Louis Business Journal, St. Louis magazine and Comstock's business magazine.

Chris currently works for VA Mortgage Center.com and writes about real estate and the mortgage industry for a number of sites and publications, including Zillow's Mortgages Unzipped, Bigger Pockets, Lenderama, Scotsman Guide and others. VAMC is a VA-approved lender that serviced more than $1 billion in loans in 2009. It is based in Columbia, Mo.
