During his tenure, Conness has assisted in the acquisition of more than $100 million of real estate on behalf of affluent real property owners and 1031 exchange investors throughout the U.S. He has been quoted in the Wall Street Journal as a resident expert on 1031 exchange Tenant In Common (TIC) investments and Real Estate Investment Trusts (REITs), and featured in Real Estate Media’s – TIC Monthly.

Conness was nationally nominated in 2007 as one of four registered representatives to the Tenant In Common Association’s (TICA)
“A Champion of Excellence” (ACE) Awards.
The ACE Awards recognize TICA members who exemplify the vision of TICA and its Code of Ethics. They are leaders in the industry who set their personal standards high, mentor others, push for industry improvement and volunteer time for the benefit of the industry and members of TICA.
Membership:
Conness is an active member of the Tenant In Common Association (TICA), and he serves on the Advisory Committee for Broward County Schools. Conness is a member of the Rotary Club of Fort Lauderdale. He is also a member of The Hundred Club of Broward County. This nonprofit organization is dedicated to providing benefits to spouses and dependents of firefighters and law enforcement officers, many of whom have lost lives or suffered permanent disability in the line of duty in Broward County, Florida.
Education and Experience:
Conness graduated with a Bachelor’s of Business Administration from Florida Atlantic University. He is a licensed Life, Health and Variable Annuity Insurance Agent. Conness holds a Series 7 and Series 63 license through Pacific West Securities. Pacific West Securities, established in 1972, is an industry leader in Tenant-In-Common / Real Estate Securities. Pacific West has been recognized nationally by The Tenant In Common Association (TICA) as the recipient of the first-ever ACE Award for its commitment and involvement for excellence and ethics in the Tenant-In-Common industry.
Background:
Conness began his career in southern California, and is considered a 1031 Tenant In Common exchange pioneer. He heads the constituency who brought this once-West Coast phenomenon across the country. Conness has been an influential authority who provides innovative real estate and alternative investment solutions to national investors.

ACE Award Qualifications for 2007:
- Nomination for someone other than yourself
- Minimum of 24 accumulative TIC transactions in 3 years or 10 million equity over 3 years
- Minimum of 3 years in business, beginning January 1, 2004
- Must be compliant with the TICA Code of Ethics
- Must be a current dues-paying member of TICA
- Must have attended one TICA Conference AND must attend the 2007 Annual Conference
